During your first visit with the Plunket Nurse, you will be asked if you would like to be involved in a PIN Group. PIN Groups are organised by the PIN Group Coordinator, to informally meet other mums and caregivers of babies in the same age range.

PIN groups are a great support network for most people, as they allow you to make new friendships and discuss what your babies are (or are not!) doing at various stages of their life. There are many PIN Groups still going on whose babies are now in college and university!

The first PIN Group meeting is organised by Plunket and then the group decides how often to meet and what kind of group they want to be - some groups are walking groups, some coffee groups.  For first time parents the PIN Group Co-ordinator will contact you when your baby is around 3 months old.

PIN Groups are not only for first time parents. They can also be organised for 2nd (and subsequent) time parents, and parents of multiples. The PIN Group Coordinator can also introduce parents new to Karori to the appropriate PIN Group.  Please contact the current PIN Group Co-ordinator as per The Plunket Committee page if you would like to know more.
